CORCORAN Theresa Marjorie (Yelle), loving wife, mother, and sister, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late Napoleon Henry Yelle, and Sophia Pearl Gertrude (Perry) Yelle

She attended high school at the Academy of the Assumption in Wellesley,MA., and graduated from Chamberlain School of Retailing with an associate’s degree in Retailing.

Marjorie pursued her love of retail in various locations including Grover Cronin and the E.T. Slattery store branch in Wellesley, founded in 1897, by one of the first Women retailer’s in the Greater Boston area.

She met and married her husband, John E. Corcoran Jr. in 1949, and switched her attention from career to motherhood. She had 5 children in 8 years. As busy as that sounds, she continued to pursue her love of travel and her passion to explore her creative gifts. She mastered many different art forms, including oil landscapes and watercolor, some of which are hanging proudly in family members’ homes. She managed to travel all over the world, challenging herself to learn the most about whatever country and culture she found herself in.

Later in life she and her husband were fortunate enough to live the best of both worlds: their beloved home on South Hill, in Ludlow Vt., and an oceanfront condo in Garden City Beach, SC. She was an avid, accomplished skier and taught skiing in the SKI-WEE program at Okemo Mtn., helping little ones on skis for their very first time. Her love for the beach was just as important to her, as she was able to spend her days walking, swimming, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Micheal’s Church in Garden City, SC., and a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Ludlow, VT. Her Catholic faith was a very important part of her life and a place where she found solace, comfort, and long-lasting friendships.

She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 53 years, John E. Corcoran, Jr. She is survived by her children, Patricia (George) Patrick of Denver, NC., Suzanne Corcoran (Skip Jentsch), of Gaithersburg, MD., Maurita (Brian) Adler, of Myrtle Beach, SC., son Jay Corcoran (Mike Roberts) of New York City and Provincetown, MA, and Jacqueline Corcoran of Arlington, VA. Grandchildren, Ryan, Torin and Shea Patrick, Max and Madeline Jenstch, Alexandria, Maxwell, Chelsea and Hannah Adler, and Quentin Corcoran Martone and Graydon Corcoran Martone. Marjorie is also survived by her 3 sisters, Patricia Ryan of Minneapolis, MN., Frances (Frank) Sanborn, of Hunting Beach, CA., Bette Kenny of West Yarmouth, MA., and brother, Paul (Kate) Yelle of Falmouth, MA., a sister-in-law, Suzanne Giovanella, of Plymouth, MA., and 33 nieces and nephews.
